Job Description
We're seeking a hands-on, high-EQ Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of people strategy, HR operations, and organizational development. This is not a purely corporate HR role—it's a balance of rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day HR administration (payroll, benefits, employee relations, compliance) while also shaping culture, developing leaders, and driving performance across a dynamic mix of blue- and white-collar teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
- Partner with leadership on organizational design, talent development, and succession planning.
- Build trust and alignment across departments, balancing company goals with employee well-being.
- Coach and mentor leaders; elevate accountability, communication, and culture.
- Serve as a strategic voice in executive and board-level discussions on people and performance.
- Support HR systems, performance reviews, and growth share/variable pay programs.
- Lead with empathy and resilience through change, growth, and high-performance expectations.
Skills and Qualifications
- A seasoned HR generalist with 5 years of progressive experience (manufacturing or CPG company preferred).
- A doer and a coach—you can process payroll one moment and guide senior leaders the next.
- Emotionally intelligent, pragmatic, and unafraid of a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.
- Thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial culture—comfortable with ambiguity and speed.
- Passionate about building teams, developing people, and helping a great American brand grow.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the position.
