Sprecher Brewing Company is seeking an experienced individual to join our cellar team. This position will report to the Operations Supervisor and work closely with members of the brewery and cellar teams. Duties will include but will not be limited to brewing, packaging, cleaning and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Operate fermentation, cellaring, filtration, brewing and sanitation systems according to good manufacturing practices
- Maintain established quality parameters within the raw material handling, brewer, and cellar operations
- Record and verify all required data within the brewery
- Provide required samples for laboratory analysis as needed
- Monitor mechanical and operational integrity of brewing equipment
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment from all aspects of production, including fermentation, cellaring, filtration and brewing
- Work with prescribed cleaning chemicals, based upon established protocol, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain sanitary standards for the microbial integrity of the products
- CIP of tanks, kegs and any other equipment
- Centrifuge operation and CIP / Filter Mod
- Product transfers and Product dry-hopping
- Maintaining a sanitary, safe and organized environment
- In line carbonating process
- Brink CIP and sanitization and Line CIP and sanitization
- Cellar maintenance and cleaning
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in a brewery or food / beverage production facility preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent / Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field a plus
- Formal degree from an accredited brewery program a plus
- Forklift certification a plus
- Team player, ability to work with the lead brewer and cellar team to accomplish daily, weekly and monthly priorities
- Communicate regularly and efficiently with Cellar staff, Head Brewer, and Production Manager
- Self-directed, personally motivated with strong attention to detail
- Able to work to deadlines and prioritize workload
- Ability to perform all essential functions and physical demands of the job
- Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floors and ability to continuously be active including but not limited to: walking, stooping, bending, reaching and crouching.
Work Environment:
- Employee may be exposed to temperature changes, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibrations, and other brew production-related hazards when in the brew production and storage areas.
