JOB DUTIES
- Diagnose equipment issues using advanced troubleshooting methods, including electrical testing, pneumatic/hydraulic analysis, and mechanical inspection to accurately identify root causes.
- Calibrate, tune, and optimize spray, pump, and coating equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and customer performance requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance services, documenting inspections, part replacements, and performance adjustments to extend equipment longevity and minimize customer downtime.
- Assemble custom configurations of paint, coating, or finishing systems based on project plans, customer specifications, or engineering drawings.
- Test repaired equipment under operating conditions to verify safe function and ensure all performance standards are met before returning to customers.
- Lead or support full-scale equipment installations, including layout, anchoring, electrical/pneumatic connections, and system startup.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, electricians, or facility personnel during installation projects to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with site requirements.
- Provide on-site technical support and emergency service, troubleshooting urgent equipment failures to reduce production interruptions for customers.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on proper use, cleaning, calibration, and care of equipment to help customers operate more efficiently.
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair findings, recommended solutions, and long-term maintenance strategies in a professional and approachable manner.
- Document all service activities in detail, including parts used, time spent, diagnostic notes, and follow-up recommendations.
- Maintain an organized service vehicle, tool inventory, and work area, ensuring tools and equipment are calibrated, in good condition, and ready for deployment.
- Assist in evaluating new products or technologies by providing field performance feedback to management and vendors.
- Collaborate with the service and sales teams to identify potential equipment upgrades, preventative maintenance plans, and opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting ways to improve service efficiency, repair processes, or safety procedures.
- Perform all work in strict compliance with OSHA, facility, and company safety protocols, including proper PPE use and lockout/tagout when required.
- Identify potential safety hazards at customer sites and communicate findings or recommendations to appropriate personnel.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in the mechanical field or related field is preferred.
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate basic information in a professional, polite and courteous manner.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to work with tools, equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and communication.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50–90%), including overnight stays and weekends.
- A self-starter who demonstrates the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
