Our Bus Drivers safely transport passengers to and from assigned stops, schools and/or school functions according to specified routes. Bus Drivers are responsible for maintaining orderly conduct during trips and facilitating a positive driver/student interaction.

Essential Job Functions:

• Transports students safely between home and school, and between other locations on special occasions such as field trips and sporting events.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus in the best interest of safety; reports any student misconduct to principal or principal's designee.
• Performs routine safety pre-trip inspections before morning and afternoon routes and logs on pre-trip inspection forms on a daily basis; reports any mechanical problems/concerns to the bus garage promptly.
• Reports all accidents promptly, follows approved guidelines and completes required reports.
• Attends safety workshops related to transportation and complete all required training.
• Follows safety rules and regulations and proper procedures as outlined in the Bus Driver's Handbook, as well as knowledge of all state regulations pertaining to school bus safety.

Education and Experience:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current (valid, not expired) State Driver's License with a non-negative point balance

Preferred

• Basic First Aid/CPR certification
• Previous experience working with children and adolescents

Special Requirements:

• The employee must pass an annual physical and participate fully in the drug/alcohol screening program.
