What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collaborative Head Start Paraeducator - 25/26 SY position at Spotsylvania County Public Schools?
Head Start is a federally funded early childhood program that promotes school readiness by providing comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and family support services to eligible children and families.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a General Education Paraeducator to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support in Head Start classrooms throughout the division. Unique to this position, as a Collaborative Paraeducator, this role will require travel to different schools to best support the needs of our students and our school teams.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
- Assists with evaluating and testing students
- Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
- Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
- Monitors students whereabouts and observe student safety
- Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering/making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
- Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty

Education and Experience:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of two (2) years working with children within an instructional, educational or related setting
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain a Basic First Aid and CPR certification

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (185 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
