What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fullstack Engineer - Podcast position at Spotify?
Podcast R&D is a product and technology team within Podcast Vertical at Spotify, focused on building best-in-class tools for creators. We own the platforms, tools, and features that power the creator experience allowing podcasters and publishers to host, create, and distribute their content, grow and engage their audiences, and earn revenue on Spotify.
This role is part of the New Value area, a multi-functional team working across business, product, design, and insights to identify, evaluate, launch, and scale new content verticals and revenue models. Our ambition is to evolve the Podcast Vertical into a general-purpose creator and publisher platform that delivers meaningful value to Spotify Premium and drives over $1B in incremental revenue.
We’re seeking thoughtful and dedicated engineers to join our team in building the tools that empower hundreds of thousands of creators every month. As part of a tight-knit, high-impact group, you’ll work with teammates dedicated to improving engineering practices. They support each other’s growth and deliver world-class technology solutions for creators.
You’ll play a key role within a diverse, distributed squad focused on subscriptions and fandom experiences - including Synced Feeds, the creator tooling that drives subscription awareness and conversion on Spotify; the Spotify Open Access API, which enables third-party - hosted subscriptions; and Podcast Subscriptions, Spotify’s own hosted subscription products. In the year ahead, the squad will focus on improving Synced Feeds, launching podcast add-ons with key partners, and building a new, scalable version of Spotify’s native subscription offering - establishing the foundation for creators of all sizes to monetize their fans directly on Spotify.
What You’ll Do
Spotify is an equal opportunity employer. You are welcome at Spotify for who you are, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or what’s playing in your headphones. Our platform is for everyone, and so is our workplace. The more voices we have represented and amplified in our business, the more we will all thrive, contribute, and be forward-thinking! So bring us your personal experience, your perspectives, and your background. It’s in our differences that we will find the power to keep revolutionizing the way the world listens.
At Spotify, we are passionate about inclusivity and making sure our entire recruitment process is accessible to everyone. We have ways to request reasonable accommodations during the interview process and help assist in what you need. If you need accommodations at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know - we’re here to support you in any way we can.
