Survey CAD Technicians are a valuable part of the team and will perform all aspects of plan production tasks. The position will require strong adherence to CAD standards as well as experience using AutoCAD, preferably Civil 3D.
- Prepares computer-generated survey drawings and exhibits according to established standards and procedures.
- Understands and follows the company’s standard CAD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written and verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs.
- Assists members of survey team with the preparation of boundary and topographic surveys, alignment plans, property exhibits and other graphics and completes simple calculations with specific instructions.
- Prepares Triangular Irregular Networks (TIN), surface models, and contours from field data
- Performs typical coordinate geometry calculations such as intersections, curves, inverses, area calculations, etc.
- Generates quantities of various materials from surface models
- Prepares calculations for field crews to take to the field for stake-out
- Communicates with other team members regarding project schedules and offers progress reports.
- Continues to develop skills and proficiency in the use of the computer-aided design software assigned
- Provides occasional input regarding company graphic standards and procedures.
