What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Tech - MRI position at SportsMED Orthopaedic Specialists?
SportsMED Orthopedic is seeking an experienced MRI Tech to join our Huntsville, AL clinic. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of clinical x-ray experience with MRI procedure experience highly preferred.
X-Ray Tech Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operation of MRI machines, computer software (EMR) systems, and other high-tech equipment as needed
- Determine individual technique for ordered examination and position patient properly Maintain proper quality control procedures
- Answering patient questions about the procedure
- Adjusting equipment as needed to produce high-quality images
- Evaluating images to make sure they meet the ordering provider’s requirements
- Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment
- Work as a team member within the imaging department
Education and Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Radiology (experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Current/active ARRT license required - RT (MR) strongly preferred
- Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of orthopedic terminology and anatomy
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, and stooping
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds or greater
- Exposure to radiation which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and monitored by radiation badges
