What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Associate position at Sports Research?
Summary:
The Operations Associate possesses exceptional critical thinking and problem solving abilities. He also has a natural proclivity for creating logic-based solutions to challenges resulting from his keen understanding of cause and effect. The ideal candidate is confident in expressing and substantiating his conclusions, while also maintaining bandwidth to absorb new perspectives and data so he can correct course when necessary. Over the course of his academic and work career, this candidate has most likely found himself a go-to sounding board for classmates, colleagues, and managers when an alternate perspective or advice was needed. The Operations Associate will use this skillset to support the daily functions of the Operations Department, which at the inception of this position, will be primarily focused on managing the movement of inventory to third party warehouses in our systems and in real life.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Communicating inventory movement requests externally, both to and from 3rd party warehouses.
- Creation and management of transactions in NetSuite (primarily those associated with above movements.)
- Formatting CSV files via Microsoft Excel to import into NetSuite. These CSVs will cover transactions imports and the correction of system errors.
- Management of transaction updates and document storage.
- Using NetSuite reporting to track all picked-up/fulfilled orders.
- Monitoring shipment statuses via communication with co-manufacturers and Amazon Seller Central.
- Generating any labels or paperwork necessary for each shipment.
- Rescheduling missed pickups and communicating updates to contacts at the pickup location.
- Updating and redistributing documents (i.e. BOLs) as needed when pickup details change.
- Collecting and storing signed documents after pickup (i.e. BOLs, packing lists)
- Initiating and escalating investigations for missing/delayed receipts to Amazon representatives and following through to resolution.
- Tracking carrier charges in NetSuite transactions.
- Elevated understanding and awareness of inventory movements in relation to internal company initiatives (i.e. deals, product launches), thereby keeping stakeholders informed of delays or other issues.
- General system research and data analysis.
- General interdepartmental troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Working Conditions:
- This role operates in a collaborative indoor office setting with standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves mostly sitting, and occasional walking, stairs, and standing required.
- Typing and use of computer equipment.
- Clarity of vision for reading and analyzing data on screens.
- Ability to write and speak in English
- Occasional travel may be required for offsite meetings or events, less than 5% of the time.
Pay Range: $25-$28/hr
