Job Overview:
The Care Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, administrative tasks, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Duties:
- Coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups, ensuring timely access to healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing information.
- Communicate effectively with medical professionals and support staff to streamline patient care processes.
- Provide administrative support by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation.
- Implement medical administrative support functions to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using medical software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Strong administrative skills including phone systems management and appointment scheduling.
- Familiarity with medical receptionist duties is a plus
