What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist position at Sports & Ortho Physical Therapy?
About Us
Sports & Ortho Physical Therapy is a family-owned private practice serving the Chicagoland area since 2003, with 10 clinics across the city and suburbs. We provide full-body, kinetic-chain physical therapy grounded in Applied Functional Science, delivered by fellowship-trained therapists who focus on the root cause of a problem rather than just the symptom. Patients receive one-on-one, hands-on care.
The Role
- This is a full-time, on-site role at our private practice in Chicago, Illinois.
- You will manage your own caseload of orthopedic, sports, and post-surgical patients — evaluating each patient, developing an individualized plan of care, and treating hands-on through discharge.
- You will apply a full-body, kinetic-chain approach to identify and treat the root cause of a problem, not just the symptom.
- You will work alongside experienced, fellowship-trained physical therapists and PT technicians who assist with patient setup and treatment modalities.
- You will document in our EMR and communicate with patients' referring physicians.
What We're Looking For
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a CAPTE-accredited program
- Active Illinois PT license (or eligibility)
- New grads welcome — mentorship and fellowship-track development provided
- Interest or training in Applied Functional Science / functional movement a plus
- A hands-on treatment philosophy and genuine warmth with patients
What We Offer
- Compensation: $80,000–$105,000 per year, with performance bonus opportunities and regular salary benchmarking
- 50% employer-paid Blue Cross Blue Shield medical insurance, plus dental and vision
- 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
- Student Loan Freedom Program (eligible positions)
- Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time
- $3,000 annual continuing education allowance
- Structured, paid mentorship with fellowship-trained clinicians
- Opportunities to specialize — pelvic health, vestibular & concussion, hand therapy, dry needling, and more
- One-on-one patient care: 45 minutes of hands-on treatment, quality over quantity
- AI-assisted documentation and administrative support to reduce charting time
Salary : $80,000 - $105,000
