We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join us as an independent contractor in the role of a Director for our Activities Office.
Role and Responsibilities:
As the Director of the Activities Office, you will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse range of activities and events that cater to the interests and preferences of residents. Your exceptional administrative skills, effective communication, and strong organizational abilities will contribute to the success of our community's engagement initiatives. You will operate as an independent contractor, collaborating closely with a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive activities calendar that reflects the varied interests of all residents.
* Coordinate logistics for events, including securing venues, managing supplies, and arranging necessary equipment.
* Liaise with external vendors and community partners to organize special events, workshops, and entertainment programs.
* Facilitate communication and engagement with residents, addressing their feedback and suggestions to continually enhance the activities program.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, budgets, and evaluations for each activity or event.
* Collaborate with the Management and Committees to create marketing materials and promote upcoming activities through various channels.
* Provide support in recruiting, training, and supervising event volunteers as needed.
* Assist in the creation of surveys and assessments to gather resident feedback, helping to shape future activity offerings.
* Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, resource allocation, and data entry.
* Contribute to the development and execution of community-wide initiatives that foster a sense of unity and camaraderie among residents.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
* Proven experience in event planning, administration, or community engagement.
* Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency in using software for scheduling, record-keeping, and communication.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
* Knowledge of Alexandria and the surrounding community a plus.
