Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and efficiently
- Ensure all food handling and sanitation procedures are strictly followed to maintain food safety standards
- Assist with ingredient prep including dough stretching, topping assembly, and portioning ingredients accurately
- Maintain cleanliness of the work station by sanitizing surfaces and equipment regularly
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on pizza recipes and ingredient selection
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management for timely restocking
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, especially in pizza or similar high-volume production environments
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and food production methods
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience preferred, with a focus on fine dining or high-volume kitchens
- Excellent food handling skills with attention to detail in recipe adherence and meal preparation standards
- Dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills is essential
