Job description:
Reporting to the Systems Administrator, the Junior System Administrator is responsible for:
• Provide technical support, solve basic user problems, and answer questions relating to desktops, laptops, tablets, peripherals, mobile devices, software, email, web, etc.
• Effective monitoring with professional resolution of technical/operational problems.
• Perform timely hardware/software upgrades and general maintenance tasks.
• Install, test, configure, diagnose, repair, and upgrade workstations/equipment/software.
• Manage PC setup and deployment using standard hardware/software setup.
• Identify, research, and resolve technical problems as needed (or by IT Team assignment).
• Working a flexible schedule to trouble shoot issues along with patching systems.
• Provides regular status updates/reports to IT Team for documentation or escalation.
• Routine maintenance/setup of OneDrive, MS Teams & VPN accounts for remote use.
Other IT Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, procedures and best practices.
• Assist with network maintenance, administration, troubleshooting, and security functions.
• Assist with creation of detailed and concise documentation regarding equipment, software, licenses and company IT assets.
• Assist with ongoing efforts on effective backups, disaster recovery and measures to prevent data loss and/or hardware failure.
• Assist with ongoing efforts on best utilization of cloud space such as Adobe Creative Cloud space and Microsoft One Drive solutions.
• Perform other IT-related duties/projects as directed by the IT Team.
• Ongoing training on integration and knowledge of telephony and ERP efforts.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in a computer technology field (A and/or comparable certification) or 1-year of direct IT work experience.
• Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated with good oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile device equipment.
• Basic help desk knowledge of Microsoft products (focus on Windows 10/11, Office 365).
• Basic network troubleshooting skills, domains, Active Directory, subnetting. knowledge of info systems concepts and terminology.
• Must be a team player with a great attendance, attitude and problem solving abilities.
Bonus Skills/Experience Desired:
• Bonus skill/experience with administration of phone systems (digital and VOIP).
• Bonus skill/experience with administration of Sophos EDR, firewalls and VPN remote connections.
Schedule:
- 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
- Monday to Friday.
- Remote work potential after 90 days.
