Role Description The Pickleball Coach role at SPORTIME Pickleball is a part-time, on-site position based in Englewood, NJ. The coach will lead pickleball instruction for players of varying ages and skill levels through group clinics, private and semi-private lessons, and skills-development programs. Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging, level-appropriate training sessions, demonstrating proper technique and strategy, and providing constructive feedback to support player improvement and enjoyment. The coach will help facilitate organized play sessions and may assist with tournaments, events, and member programming as needed. Additional duties include maintaining a safe and welcoming court environment, promoting club programs, and collaborating with club staff to ensure a high-quality experience for all participants.
Qualifications
- Strong pickleball playing ability and a solid understanding of rules, techniques, and strategies; prior coaching or teaching experience in pickleball or other racket sports is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, instruct, and support players of diverse ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver structured lessons and clinics, including adjusting instruction to suit different learning styles and group sizes.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, with strong awareness of sportsmanship and player well-being.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working on-site during evenings, weekends, and peak club hours as required.
- Basic administrative and organizational abilities, such as managing lesson schedules, tracking attendance, and coordinating with club staff.
