What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Counselor position at Sportime Clubs, LLC?
JOB SUMMARY
To supervise a group of campers and ensure they safely follow their specific daily schedule, to create and/or participate in structured activities as directed by senior camp staff
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Arrive to work on time, as scheduled, ready to work
- Communicate with other camp staff, and work as part of the team.
- Ensure that the facility is kept clean and tidy.
- Abide by all SPORTIME policies and procedures.
- Present a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times, and wear SPORTIME attire as required. Lead by example!
- Complete and communicate incident reports immediately (as soon as they happen but after you have safely taken care of child, member, employee or self) to supervisor
- Spends the camp day with a specific group of campers, participating in a variety of daily lesson plans.
- Take daily attendance at the start and end of each day, distribute lunch tokens to kids signed up, and mark additions or deletions as applicable.
- Be aware of any specific needs of the kids in their group, physical or emotional.
- Ensure that kids leave the premises safely and on time.
- Carry any equipment for individual campers as necessary.
- Review your individual timesheet daily to ensure accuracy
- Must be at least 16 years old
- First Aid/CPR/AED certified a PLUS
- Experience working with kids and sports/fitness
- Ability to maintain discipline and order with a group of children.
- Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand
- Ability to maintain a professional composure with counselors and members in difficult situations
- Ability to engage in physical activities and create a positive and safe environment
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems
- In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications set forth above, this position requires strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to:
- Lifting (up to 35 lbs.), carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting and reaching using entire body
- Use of both fine and gross motor skills
- Use of abdominal and lower back muscles, continuously over time, without fatigue
- Sit and to stand for long periods of time
- The position requires the employee to work indoors and outdoors
