The role processes bi-weekly payroll, maintains accurate employee records, and utilizes the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure data integrity for personnel, payroll, benefits, and compliance.
The Generalist conducts new employee orientation, maintains confidential personnel files, supports performance evaluations, and assists the Human Resource Director with employee relations, investigations, performance management, and policy interpretation. This position serves as a resource for employees regarding benefit programs, manages benefit enrollments and qualifying life event changes, and coordinates annual open enrollment by communicating plan information, distributing materials, answering questions, and ensuring accurate enrollment.
Additional duties include supporting workers’ compensation administration, regulatory compliance activities, state surveys, and organizational initiatives. Professionalism, confidentiality, accuracy, strong customer service, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture are essential.
High school diploma required; HR or administrative experience preferred.
- Proficient in computer systems, Microsoft Office, and HR-related software applications.
- Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payroll, and benefits administration preferred.
- Knowledge of employee onboarding, benefit enrollment, and open enrollment processes preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and perform typical office tasks.
