What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nook Rx'd Coach position at Spooky Nook Sports?
Nook Rx’d Coaches should demonstrate excellent coaching, leadership, and managerial skills to effectively lead all Nook Rx’d classes with the support and guidance of the Director of Fitness Operations. All coaches should be able to coach any level of athlete, from beginner to advanced athletes and/or competitor. Coaches should be self-motivated and team players with the ability to get along with all personality types in order to help athletes reach their goals.
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:
- PA State Police criminal history record,
- PA Child Abuse Clearance, and
- FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.

Basic Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid Certified.
- 1 years of functional fitness training as an athlete.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training/coaching.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Dependable transportation to and from work.
- Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication.
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- CrossFit L1 certification or similar approved certification preferred.
- Preference will be given to current athletes & coaches willing to coach 5:15am classes.
- Ability to connect with athletes and build community.
- Ability to motivate others and implement new ideas.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to be on time to all meetings, events, and early to all classes coaching.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Working Conditions
- Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. The team client will primarily work in the Sports Performance fitness area.
- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team client will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team client will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Lifting requirements: The team client will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs. regularly, and frequently up to 50 lbs. repeatedly as required to instruct clients on the use of strength equipment.
- Noise Level: The noise level in this environment is typically moderate to loud.
- Work schedule: The work schedule may fluctuate to including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
