Commercial Department Laborer
Sponzilli Landscape Group, an established, high-end Landscape Design/Build company, is seeking a Landscape Construction Crew Team Member to perform a wide variety of landscape construction functions related to but not limited to planting, soil work, plant and shrub installation, green roof landscape systems, and snow removal.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with other Team Members to perform manual duties to maintain landscaping, including spreading soil, planting flowers, weeding garden beds, pruning trees and shrubs.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization on job sites.
- Wear specific PPE and comply with all policies and regulations.
- Proficient in the use of basic power equipment and hand tools in a safe and responsible manner including but not limited to hedge trimmers, augers, leaf blower, leaf rake, broom, hoe, shovel, water hose, quick coupler key, hand pruners and hedge shears.
- Ability to comprehend instructions.
- Learn and perform basic planting skills.
- Assist in keeping the job site tidy/safe.
- Become proficient in loading and unloading of truck and trailer used in landscape operations.
- Perform regular safety inspections on vehicle and trailer.
- Adhere to company policies, standards and safety guidelines.
- Meet or exceed company production rates and standards set forth.
- Work with other employees as a team.
Working Conditions:
- The majority of the time will be spent in an outdoor environment, with limited ability to control noise, airborne contaminants and temperature.
- The work hours required of this position may be long when extended schedules are necessary.
- This is an hourly position with a normally expected work week of 40-50 hours, but the person in this position is expected to work these hours needed to successfully satisfy the responsibilities and duties of the position.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A high school degree or GED is required as well as 1 year of documented experience in the hardscape/landscape/construction field.
- Candidate must be able to read and write English legibly.
- The individual will have a working knowledge of standard construction practices.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, job planning skills and mechanical aptitude is a must.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
