Responsibilities
- Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
- Be able to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Exact days and hours TBD.
- Safely operate roll-off, to transport waste containers.
- Load and unload waste materials efficiently using mechanical knowledge of truck systems and lifting techniques.
- Drive heavy-duty truck with manual transmissions across various routes within Joplin and surrounding areas.
- Ensure proper securing and handling of containers during loading, unloading, and transportation processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks before and after shifts to maintain safety standards and mechanical integrity.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks required for loading containers onto trucks or transferring materials manually when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and safety records throughout each shift.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments.
- Follow all safety protocols related to commercial driving, vehicle operation, and waste handling procedures.
- Absolutely no smoking while on duty.
Experience
- Proven experience operating roll-off trucks. (min 1 year roll-off specific)
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of truck systems and basic maintenance procedures.
- Prior experience in scrap metal or waste collection driving roles preferred.
- Ability to perform manual lifting of heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures for various container types including roll-offs and flatbeds.
- Knowledge of manual transmission operation is advantageous but not mandatory if willing to learn.
- Excellent driving record.
