Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair 12-volt electrical systems including lighting, audio, security systems, and auxiliary power sources in vehicles
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform precise wiring and component installations or repairs
- Conduct diagnostic testing using specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to identify electrical faults
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks related to electrical components to ensure optimal operation
- Follow safety protocols and industry standards during all installation and repair procedures
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle
- Assist in upgrading or modifying existing electrical systems based on customer or company requirements
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and crimpers
- Experience with power tools used in automotive or electrical work
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters for testing circuits and components
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures with an emphasis on electrical system upkeep
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
