Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer with strong OSP experience to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of fiber splicing to specifications, advanced testing using EXFO OTDR platforms, and reporting through FastReporter. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards of quality, safety, and performance in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform single-mode and multi-mode fiber splicing in Outside Plant (OSP) environments
- Read and interpret fiber prints, splice diagrams, and construction specifications
- Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting using EXFO OTDR equipment
- Create accurate test documentation and reports using FastReporter
- Perform mid-sheath entries, fiber restoration, and emergency repairs
- Maintain proper slack storage, enclosure builds, and grounding
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, company specifications, and customer requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment and vehicle
- Communicate clearly with project managers, supervisors, and customers
- Follow all safety policies and job-site procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on fiber splicing experience (OSP required)
- Proficient with EXFO OTDR platforms and FastReporter software
- Strong knowledge of fiber testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Ability to splice fiber to strict customer and industry specifications
- Experience with enclosures, handholes, manholes, and aerial applications
- Ability to read and understand construction prints and fiber schematics
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working in outdoor environments
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10/30 Certification
- Experience with underground, aerial, and long-haul fiber builds
- Experience with emergency restoration and after-hours work
- Leadership or crew lead experience
