Position Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) plays an important role in generating new business opportunities and supporting the sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in building a career in sales, business development, logistics, or technology.
Unlike a traditional call center environment, this position focuses on building professional relationships, understanding customer needs, and creating qualified sales opportunities.
The selected candidate will receive training in sales development, logistics, shipping operations, and business development while gaining experience with Salesforce and other industry-leading sales technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesProspecting & Lead Generation
- Research prospective customers and identify key decision-makers.
- Conduct outreach through phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings for Account Executives.
Relationship Building
- Develop professional relationships with prospective customers.
- Learn customer challenges and identify opportunities for SPL Group solutions.
- Maintain consistent follow-up communication with prospects.
CRM & Sales Operations
- Utilize Salesforce and other sales tools to manage activities and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and pipeline activity.
- Support sales initiatives and campaigns as needed.
Industry & Product Knowledge
- Learn logistics, shipping, fulfillment, and supply chain fundamentals.
- Develop knowledge of SPL Group's services and technology solutions.
- Stay informed about shipping trends and carrier solutions.
QualificationsRequired
- Associate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Comfortable learning new software and technology platforms.
- Ability to work independently and apply feedback effectively.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, business development, or sales.
- Familiarity with logistics, transportation, shipping, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, DHL, or other parcel carriers.
