General Information
Spitzer, a recognized industry leader in designing and fabricating high-specification equipment, is currently seeking Material Handler to join our team.
What Does a Week in the Life of the Material Handler Look Like?
o Basic understanding of shop/yard layout and how to stage and locate materials.
o Safely loading, unloading and transfer / movement of material.
o Perform assigned activities according to shop requirements, Company procedures and as directed by Supervisor.
o Ensure the material is properly staged and stored in designated locations.
o Makes sure that items are properly tagged and labeled.
o Knowledge of how to use and safely operate material handling equipment, i.e. pallet jack and crane (training required).
o May operate a forklift to transport stored material into production areas.
o Complies with all HSE regulations and requirements.
o Follow all health safety procedure and regulations as outlined by the Company.
o Other assigned duties
Skills (to Pay the Bills)
Here's a list of a few competencies that the Material Handler at Spitzer should have…
o 2 to 3 years of experience in similar or related position.
o Good communication skills.
o Knowledge of Company Procedures and Policies.
o Exposure to possible shop hazards including but not limited to welding fumes, heat, flash burns, skin burns, high noise level and eye injuries from welding arc and grinders. Spends a large percentage of the time in yard, warehouse, and shop.
o Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb during the course for the shift.
o Physically able to lift up to 45 pounds.

Work Schedule
Spitzer currently runs two shifts, Monday through Friday with overtime on weekend work as needed. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs.
