Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for refining and finishing metal components to meet precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards across all products. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and attention to detail to produce polished, defect-free metal parts suitable for assembly and final use.
Duties
- Polish and finish metal surfaces using hand tools and polishing equipment to achieve desired surface quality and appearance.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other quality inspection tools to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to accurately execute polishing tasks.
- Operate various fabrication machinery including CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, stamping presses, press brake machines, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and CNC programming as needed.
- Assist with fabrication processes involving sheet metal, tooling, welding, and assembly to support overall production goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to crane operation, hand tools, and machining equipment.
- Collaborate with team members on projects involving CNC programming, machining, fabrication, and quality control to ensure efficient workflow.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments with hands-on knowledge of machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, stamping press operation, and welding.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings with GD&T standards.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and other tools for quality inspection.
- Mechanical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, tooling setups, and assembly processes.
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining and finishing tasks.
