Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to create a welcoming shopping environment
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
- Assist customers with product demos and upselling to enhance their shopping experience and increase sales
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are attractively presented
- Manage inventory by stocking new merchandise and conducting regular stock checks to keep the sales floor well-supplied
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about products or store policies with proper phone etiquette
- Support sales goals through proactive engagement, suggestive selling, and promoting ongoing promotions or specials
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist diverse customer needs
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and moving merchandise as needed
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude and patience when assisting shoppers
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail environments is advantageous but not required
