Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the cash register while also managing stock levels and maintaining the cleanliness of the store. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
Duties
- Operate the cash register efficiently, processing customer transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance customer experience.
- Assist with stocking shelves, ensuring products are neatly displayed and easily accessible.
- Perform inventory control tasks, including tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
- Handle shipping and receiving of merchandise, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Utilize an RF scanner to manage inventory effectively.
- Engage with customers to provide assistance, answer questions, and promote products.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to restock shelves or move merchandise throughout the store.
- Ensure produce sections are fresh, clean, and well-presented.
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cash registers and retail math is beneficial.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of inventory control processes is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required.
