SPIRITS INVESTMENT PARTNERS

Field Sales Manager

Independent Contractor (1099) | Defined Market Territory | Reports to Regional Sales Leader

Summary

Spirits Investment Partners (SIP) is a commercial management company specializing in building and scaling beverage alcohol brands across the U.S. market. SIP provides end to end commercial services, sales strategy, distributor management, field execution, and brand development, for a portfolio that includes Heaven's Door Whiskey and other emerging spirits brands. We are a lean, entrepreneurial team that moves fast, works smart, and delivers outsized results for our brand partners.

The Field Sales Manager is responsible for driving brand sales, distribution, and visibility across both on premise and off premise accounts within a defined territory. This is a street level, performance driven role with strict volumetric KPIs; your success is measured by cases sold, new accounts opened, and distribution points gained. You will be the face of the SIP portfolio in your market, building relationships with bartenders, buyers, and retail managers while executing brand strategies at the account level. Compensation is structured as a monthly retainer plus commission tied directly to sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Achieve monthly and quarterly volume targets (depletions/shipments), new account goals, and distribution KPIs as defined by leadership

- Manage a targeted list of on premise and off premise accounts; conduct regular sales calls to grow placements, secure displays, gain menu visibility, and increase velocity

- Open new accounts and expand distribution points across the territory; identify whitespace opportunities and convert competitive accounts

- Execute brand standards at every account: pricing compliance, shelf placement, back bar visibility, menu placements, and display execution

- Conduct staff trainings and product education sessions at bars, restaurants, and retail locations to build brand advocacy

- Coordinate and support promotional events, tastings, samplings, and activations that generate consumer trial and brand awareness

- Ride with distributor sales representatives regularly to align on priorities, share market intelligence, and drive collaborative execution

- Monitor competitor activities including new product launches, pricing changes, and promotional strategies; report findings to leadership

- Submit weekly activity reports including account visits, sales results, distribution gains, and competitive insights on time and with accuracy

- Represent the SIP portfolio professionally at all times; build and maintain a reputation as a trusted, knowledgeable partner in the trade

- Ensure all sales activities comply with state and local regulations and company policies

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

- Monthly volume targets (9L case equivalents) as set by territory plan

- New account openings per month

- Distribution points gained (PODs) vs. territory goal

- Account visit frequency and coverage targets

- Promotional execution and event participation

Qualifications & Experience

- 3 years of field sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry (spirits experience preferred)

- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding volume and distribution targets

- Established relationships with on and off premise accounts within the assigned market

- Experience working with beverage alcohol distributors/wholesalers

- Strong knowledge of the local market including key accounts, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment

- Self motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

- Excellent relationship building and communication skills; able to connect with bartenders, buyers, and store managers alike

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work with CRM and sales reporting tools

- Must reside in or near the assigned market territory

- Must be 21 years of age or older

- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record

- Ability to lift and transport up to 40 pounds of product, POS materials, and display items

Compensation Structure

- Monthly Retainer: Paid as a fixed monthly fee for territory management and account coverage

- Commission: Performance based commission tied directly to depletion volume and new account activations within the territory

- This is an independent contractor (1099) position. Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, vehicle, and business expenses

- Compensation details will be discussed during the interview process and are commensurate with territory size and market potential

Key Competencies

- Hunter Mentality – Relentless drive to open doors, win placements, and grow the business account by account

- Street Smarts – Deep knowledge of the local market; knows who the buyers are, where the opportunities live, and how to get things done

- Self Discipline – Manages time, territory, and priorities independently; delivers results without constant oversight

- Brand Ambassador – Represents the portfolio with passion, knowledge, and professionalism at every touchpoint

- Resilience – Handles rejection, stays positive, and keeps pushing; understands that consistent effort drives consistent results

- Collaboration – Works effectively with distributor reps, RSMs, and fellow FSMs to maximize territory performance
