What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer: Design a Website Refresh Strategy and Sitemap (Weebly/Square) position at Spiritcare Ministry To Seniors?
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Could you help us update our website with a more modern, engaging design? We need a web designer to reimagine the structure and design of our site. It is built and hosted on the Weebly/Square platform. We’re looking for someone to understand our goals, needs, technical capacity, and audiences. After reviewing our current site and outlining requirements, they would create a draft of the site’s structure and design. This guide can then be used by another volunteer or team member to build the website.
As the Baby Boomer generation ages, the senior population is growing quickly. Many older adults move into care communities, where they can lose connection with their church and spiritual support due to isolation, health challenges, and limited transportation. At the same time, this stage of life often brings a deeper desire for meaning and spiritual connection. We bring in-person worship services directly to seniors, offering hope, encouragement, and community. Our work depends on volunteers, and for many people, our website is their first impression. It also shapes how board members, donors, and partners see us—so it plays an important role in how we serve seniors. Please reach out! We’d love to tell you more and explore how we can strengthen our website with your help.
Improving our website is a top priority. I’ve led several website redesigns in my past work and have experience working with developers, but that was a few years ago, and we’re looking for fresh ideas and current design. We’ll come prepared to share our platform, budget, branding, audiences, content ideas, and a draft sitemap. We'll be very open to guidance along the way.
SpiritCare Ministry To Seniors Mission: The purpose of SpiritCare Ministry to Seniors is to serve the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly living in long-term care centers.
