Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to provide in-home dogsitting services. This role involves caring for dogs in their familiar environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while their owners are away. The ideal candidate will have experience in pet care and possess skills that enhance the quality of care provided.
Duties
- Provide attentive and loving care to dogs, including feeding, walking, and playtime.
- Administer any necessary medications as directed by the pet owner.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the dogs, including cleaning up after them.
- Monitor the health and behavior of the dogs, reporting any concerns to the owner promptly.
- Ensure that all needs of the dogs are met, including exercise, companionship, and mental stimulation.
- Assist with meal preparation for the dogs as needed.
- Be prepared to handle any emergencies with first aid or CPR if required.
- Engage in activities that promote the dogs' well-being and happiness.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet care or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of basic dog behavior and training techniques is a plus.
- Skills in hospice care or memory care can be beneficial for handling special needs pets.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., moving large dog crates or supplies).
- Experience in home care settings or group homes can enhance understanding of caregiving responsibilities.
