What are the responsibilities and job description for the Count Operations Technician III position at Spirit Mountain Casino?
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains, disassembles, and repairs various types of cash counting equipment and coin counters.
- Adjusts equipment parts, sensors, and voltage levels; installs and replaces equipment motors, clutches, solenoids, belts, sensors, bearings, rollers, PCBs, scanners, and printers.
- Monitors and ensures the proper functioning and accuracy of cash counting equipment.
- Maintains, repairs, and modifies electric tugs and currency carts.
- Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on time and date stamp machines.
- Creates acrylic currency condos, carts, monitor stands, check cashing equipment stands, currency tables and tills, and safekeeping boxes.
- Performs general maintenance and repairs on kiosks, ATM’s, air purifiers, oscillating fans, Zebra and kiosk/ATM printers, electric staplers, and check cashing equipment.
- Provides assistance to Slot Technicians in the installation and relocation of slot machines.
- Maintains adequate inventory for equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Communicates with various vendors to ensure proper inventories, equipment functionality and preventative maintenance.

Required Knowledge of:
- Electronic and mechanical principles.
- G&D BPS M5 and C5 currency counter. Out-of-state training and certifications required.
- Various types of equipment relative to cage operations.
- Procedures for repairing and maintaining gaming and non-gaming equipment.
- Tools and instruments used in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Safety protocols relative to the operation of departmental tools and equipment.
- 3D printing and slicer software
Required Skill in:
- Performing preventative maintenance on various types of cage and count operations equipment.
- Installing, adjusting, repairing, and replacing equipment and related parts.
- Ensuring the proper functioning and accuracy of cash counting equipment.
- Performing skilled carpentry work using wood, acrylic and various plastic materials.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
- Reading and understanding schematics and blueprints.
- Maintaining and documenting maintenance logs.
- Word and Excel.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field, and three (3) years of experience repairing and maintaining cage equipment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in a gaming environment with frequent exposure to tobacco smoke and noise.
- Work is subject to frequent standing, intermittent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Work requires the ability to work in confined spaces and involves frequent exposure to machinery with moving parts, electrical currents, and hazardous materials.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
- Equipment utilized includes but not limited to, power and hand tools relative to equipment maintenance, carpentry tools including but not limited to table saw, band saw and routers, engraving tools and equipment, ladders, air compressors, shop vacuums, motorized tugs, electric carts, and two-way radios.
