LEAD RETAIL STAFF: CRYSTAL, JEWELRY & INVENTORY TENDER, TEMPLEKEEPER

We are looking for a Gem of a Lead Templekeeper/ Rock Star Stock Tender (AKA supportive retail staff who also helps receive & prep our wonderful inventory!) to join us at our 29 year-old shop. Spirit Matters celebrates the theology of geology, the world’s wisdom traditions, the divine feminine, oracular traditions & other oddities. We carry sacred art & statues, crystals, stones, jewelry, books, cards, home décor & garden goods. Directly & fairly traded whenever possible- lots of hand to hand, heart to heart relationships.

We are looking for someone who absolutely delights in details, is ready, steady, available & excited to be an active member of our heart-centered community, supporting us as we enjoy serving our wonderful local & longtime return clientele-as well as our virgin visitors.

You will be a primary tender of our unique inventory—receiving our unique, often one of a kind inventory, including lots of wonderful jewelry (so you need great handwriting for tagging! )while also sharing your enthusiasm & knowledge with customers on the sales floor as needed. Our Lead Templekeepers work closely with the Owner-Buyer & our great Manager to ensure the shop is well tended, organized & flowing with Spirit.

As much as possible, we need:

- Solid retail experience; particularly in receiving orders, backstock, & retail systems (& wow, if you have experience converting a store onto a point of sale system--you're golden!)

-Delighted by fine details, finds beauty in systems…& spirit!

-Organized, tidy, enjoys structure, maintaining & creating order. Good handwriting!!

-Efficient, accurate & productive tasking, following written & verbal instruction completely

- Works well alone & with our great existing staff

-Reliable, on time, emotionally mature, steady with the highest degree of personal integrity

- Wants a long-term relationship with us & what we are about

-Exposure to & interest in the world’s wisdom traditions– or curiosity to learn!

- Deep love & knowledge of the mineral/rock/gem/crystal/fossil worlds – or curiosity to learn!

-Sincere intent to steadily nurture the store’s growth - & their own

-Able to work at least one weekend day & most holidays

-Connections & commitment to West Marin community preferred

-Superb friendly attitude: outgoing, warm & welcoming. Service oriented.

Compensation: DOE, staff discount, great atmosphere & community room for growth.

Store is currently open year-round Thursdays-Sundays 11-6, more during busy seasons. With the right person, we will open more. Possibility for 2-5 days a week, including Sundays.

Please note--housing can be difficult to find in West Marin if you don’t already live here. Staff have commuted from Fairfax (1/2 hour), Novato (1/2 hour), Petaluma (45 minutes), Mill Valley (1 hour).
