Director of Operations

Spirit In the Desert Retreat Center, located in Carefree, Arizona, is a sanctuary for reconciliation, renewal, and transformation, nestled in the breathtaking Sonoran Desert. Open to individuals of all faiths and traditions, the center offers a welcoming space for retreats, meetings, and programs fostering personal and collective growth. Its campus features sacred spaces such as sanctuaries, a Labyrinth, Prayer Path, and serene walking trails, alongside modern amenities like private bedrooms, a heated pool, and state-of-the-art meeting rooms with WiFi and AV support. With a dedicated team providing exceptional hospitality and healthy, homemade meals, the center is a hub for reflection, community, and productivity.

The Director of Operations will oversee the daily management and administrative functions of the retreat center in a full-time, on-site capacity based in Carefree, AZ. This role includes leading operational workflows, managing budgets, ensuring exceptional customer service, coordinating with vendors and staff, and maintaining the facility’s infrastructure and amenities. The Director of Operations will work closely with the executive team to develop and implement strategies that align with the retreat center’s mission of providing hospitality and fostering transformation.

• Proven expertise in Operations Management and Analytical Skills to oversee and optimize day-to-day activities and processes.
• Demonstrated Team Management abilities, including leadership, staff supervision, and collaborative decision-making.
• Experience with Budgeting and financial management to ensure efficient allocation of resources and cost control.
• Strong Customer Service skills to uphold positive guest experiences and foster a welcoming environment.
• Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to balance multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to adapt and make decisions tailored to the center's unique mission and needs.
• Familiarity with nonprofit operations or retreat center management, though not required, is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
