What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Chaplain position at Spirit Hospice of Georgia?
Spirit Hospice believes that a big heart is a superpower. We’re looking for a Hospice Chaplain who can hold space for others with faith, grace, and maybe a little humor on the side.
What you’ll do:
- Walk alongside patients and families through some of life’s hardest but most meaningful moments.
- Help families navigate the messy parts.. grief, fear, and sometimes paperwork.
- Lead with compassion, advocate fiercely, and remind people that even in loss there’s still love and dignity.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, social workers, aides, and volunteers in our interdisciplinary team (IDT), ensuring care is heart-centered.
- Offer spiritual guidance, and that grounding presence people remember long after the goodbye.
What you bring:
- at least 1 CPU
- Hospice, medical, or mental health experience (and if not hospice yet, a calling to it).
- A steady heart that can hold both tears and laughter in the same breath.
- Strong communication, organizational, and advocacy skills.
