Responsibilities
The Assistant, Packaging & Project Management reports to the Associate Manager of Packaging Production and plays a key role in managing packaging projects from initial concept through final production and distribution. This individual will collaborate closely with Merchants, Design, and Product Management teams to define project scope, align on production goals, and ensure timely execution across all phases.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on knowledge of packaging development and production, a strong understanding of industry standards, and the confidence to communicate effectively with overseas factories and domestic vendors. This role requires someone who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and can manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Creative, Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing teams.
- Oversee the mock-up packaging process for hardlines products across new and established categories.
- Assist with communication between the company and factories for all packaging-related inquiries.
- Partner with Creative and Merchandising teams to review and approve quality and mock packaging.
- Prepare and distribute sample packets — including paper stock samples and color proofs — to vendors for quality reference.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to initiate and align on the packaging process throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Track and communicate production stages and project statuses to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred; 2 years in a creative agency or packaging production environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple large-scale projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience working with overseas partners and vendors preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle a demanding daily workload and shifting priorities.
- Proven process management skills with a commitment to continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is a plus.
