Responsibilities:
Spirit is seeking a Corporate Procurement Buyer to come grow with us! Our Buyer role is responsible for the procurement of goods and services across a wide variety of commodity types – from creating purchase orders for IT to helping source Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for Maintenance – this role gets tons of exposure! You’ll help review and process purchase orders, source material for spot buys, identify & execute on cost saving initiatives, manage RFQs & provide purchasing recommendations, and track critical purchase orders.
- Prepares source selection, issues RFQs, prepares price analysis, performs market research, determines price fair and reasonableness, recommends, and selects suppliers for award.
- Supports the full PO Lifecycle – from issuing PO’s to reconciling invoices.
- Ensures PPE inventory is at appropriate levels; issues PO’s proactively to restock items.
- Supports pricing for business development and proposal activities; to include, locating new vendors as required for the specific procurement effort.
- Identifies, executes, and tracks cost savings initiatives.
- Effectively manages key suppliers and track on time delivery of certain goods.
- Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Understands market trends; conducts periodic market studies and analyzes to build / enhance supplier base, manages information within vendor database and assists in supplier vetting/grading process.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Business and/or Supply Chain degrees preferred
- 1-3 years' experience
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook & Excel
- Experience working in Coupa (preferred)
- Demand planning, negotiation, and contract management experience
- Skilled in data analysis and providing actionable recommendations.
- Proficient and professional communication
- Excellent attention to detail
- An aptitude for negotiating.
- Knowledge of purchasing systems (example: SAP)
- Good technical knowledge of procurement/sourcing
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational, time-management and problem- solving skills.
- English fluent, any other language is a plus.
- No travel required
