JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Laundry Supervisor's role is to directly assist the Housekeeping Manager plan, coordinate, and oversee the Laundry staff in the daily operations of a highly presentable Gold Crown (RCI) 5-Star (II) vacation interval resort operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision
- Assist in daily operation and responsible for production results in Laundry.
- Responsible for HotSOS and completion of all housekeeping guest requests at all properties.
- When requested, assist the Housekeeping Manager with projects, tasks, and assigned reports.
- Train personnel in the use of laundry equipment, computer software, the standard procedures for performing various tasks, and safety procedures and standards.
- Monitor staff performance as directed by the Department Manager.
- Supervise work schedules for staff when assigned.
- Maintain a productive relationship with co-workers, contractors, vendors, and management.

Specific Tasks and Assignments
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with contractors, vendors, management staff, and co-workers.
- Assist in supervising of work schedules for staff as directed by housekeeping manager.
- Seek out and execute cost controls in all areas of responsibility.
- Oversee daily operation and results of the Laundry staff as assigned.
- Observe staff in all areas of responsibility (i.e., company protocol, uniforms, schedules, punctuality, reports, and guest interaction.) Address staff short-comings and report to Manager upon occurrences.
- Daily oversight of progression in Laundry.
- Assist with maintaining Premier and Gold Crown Status with II/RCI.
- Responsible for damage inventory counts on linen items and reports.
- Be available to cover Laundry/Housekeeping when needed (i.e., employees sick, vacations, PTO.)
- Generate operation reports as follows but not limited to:
- Arrival Reports (Daily)
- Departure Reports
- Vacant Clean Reports
- Provide Housekeeping Manager with daily task assistance
- Inspect rooms when necessary
- Update rooms in SPI.
- Clean items found unsatisfactory by guest, and report issue and quality to housekeeping manager.
- Stock/Deliver any items that are needed.
Administration/General
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in monitoring operating and capital expenditure budgets for Laundry, condo items and guest amenities at all properties.
- Assist in planning off season (White Time) projects.
- Relay critical information about matters related to Housekeeping and Laundry (staff related and procedural related) to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Perform any other duties as requested and/or assigned in order to maintain the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department in all areas of responsibility.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate files to track work to be done and work completed.
- Be punctual in reporting to work and starting duties.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times to give a positive first impression of the Resort and SDC.
- Plan Laundry projects as assigned.
- Assist the Housekeeping Department manager as requested.

SAFETY
- Ensure that all safety rules are observed by the Laundry/Housekeeping staff.
- Practice and encourage the proper, safe procedures for equipment and chemical use.
- Practice and encourage the proper, safe procedures for physical exertion that involve lifting, bending, and climbing.
- Know tornado, fire, and disaster procedures and help coordinate evacuation efforts if necessary.
WORK SCHEDULES
Given that we are in the hospitality industry and operations are 24 hours, 7 days per week, schedules will vary by department based on seasonality and business needs. All employees are encouraged to recognize there is a certain level of flexibility expected based on legitimate business situations. For office staff, slight variations of start and end times are available by department based on business needs. However, once a schedule is determined, employees should ensure they are timely based on their established schedule. Requests for schedule adjustments should be submitted to your immediate manager and may be considered if it meets the needs of the business.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or GED
- Desire 2 years’ experience in Laundry position or related field.
- Desire 1 year supervisory experience in related or applicable field
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to be attentive to details
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Microsoft Word, Excel & e-mail proficiency.
- Be customer service oriented and display an obvious people-person personality.
- General and technical knowledge in housekeeping and laundry procedures
- Ability to train and supervise staff in all areas of laundry and housekeeping.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to walk/stand extensively, climb stairs, and lift 50lbs or more.
- Valid Driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation.
