Headquarters in New Jersey, we also have office locations in Maryland, Washington D.C., and California.Job SummaryThe Safety Manager is a field-focused safety leadership role responsible for supporting active construction project sites across the West Region. This position requires strong, hands-on construction field experience and the ability to work directly with crews, supervision, and project management to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture.This is a permanent, full-time position intended to provide consistent, long-term safety leadership in the region. While a CHST certification is preferred, it is not required provided the candidate demonstrates strong, relevant field safety experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day field safety leadership on active construction project sitesConduct regular site safety inspections and audits, identify hazards, and verify corrective action close-outSupport and review JHAs, pre-task plans, permits, and safe work plansCoach and mentor supervisors and crews on safe work practices and hazard recognitionSupport incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action developmentAssist project teams with client safety requirements, audits, and compliance documentationDeliver or coordinate site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks as neededTrack and maintain safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance metricsTravel between project sites within the West Region as required (typically supporting multiple sites)Position Requirements and QualificationsMinimum 5 years of construction safety experience, with significant field-based involvementExperience supporting civil, underground utility, trenchless, or heavy construction projects strongly preferredCHST preferredOSHA 30 (Construction) required; OSHA 500/510 a plusCalifornia Certified Gas Tester (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)CSP, ASP, etc. considered an assetBachelors degree in Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (or equivalent field experience)Strong working knowledge of Cal OSHA construction standardsAbility to communicate effectively with field crews, supervision, and project managementPractical, solution-oriented approach to safety challengesProficient with Microsoft Office and basic safety management systemsBilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not requiredStrong field presence and credibility with construction personnelHands-on, approachable leadership styleDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently while aligning with corporate safety directionCommitment to continuous improvement and a strong safety cultureRecruitment NoticeSpiniello Companies does not accept unsolicited resumes from search, recruiting, or staffing firms.
