Surgical Coordinator

SpineSearch is seeking an experienced and highly organized Surgical Coordinator with a strong background in spine surgery to support a busy surgical practice in Palm Beach County. This role is critical to ensuring seamless coordination of surgical cases from scheduling through post-operative follow-up, while serving as a key liaison between surgeons, patients, facilities, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule spine surgery cases across hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
• Obtain and manage surgical authorizations, insurance verification, and pre-certifications
• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding surgical planning, pre-op requirements, and post-op instructions
• Communicate with surgeons, physician assistants, anesthesia teams, hospitals, ASCs, and device representatives
• Ensure all pre-operative documentation, imaging, labs, and clearances are complete and received timely
• Coordinate implants, instrumentation, neuromonitoring, and vendor logistics specific to spine cases
• Maintain accurate surgical schedules, case logs, and patient records within EMR and scheduling systems
• Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or last-minute changes to ensure smooth case flow
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, facility protocols, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Surgical Coordinator, Surgery Scheduler, or similar role
• Spine surgery experience required (orthopedic spine or neurosurgery)
• Strong understanding of surgical workflows, spine procedures, and implant coordination
• Experience with insurance authorizations and payer requirements
• Proficiency with EMR systems and surgical scheduling platforms
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
