SpineSearch is seeking an experienced and highly organized Surgical Coordinator with a strong background in spine surgery to support a busy surgical practice in Palm Beach County. This role is critical to ensuring seamless coordination of surgical cases from scheduling through post-operative follow-up, while serving as a key liaison between surgeons, patients, facilities, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule spine surgery cases across hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers
- Obtain and manage surgical authorizations, insurance verification, and pre-certifications
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding surgical planning, pre-op requirements, and post-op instructions
- Communicate with surgeons, physician assistants, anesthesia teams, hospitals, ASCs, and device representatives
- Ensure all pre-operative documentation, imaging, labs, and clearances are complete and received timely
- Coordinate implants, instrumentation, neuromonitoring, and vendor logistics specific to spine cases
- Maintain accurate surgical schedules, case logs, and patient records within EMR and scheduling systems
- Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts or last-minute changes to ensure smooth case flow
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, facility protocols, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Surgical Coordinator, Surgery Scheduler, or similar role
- Spine surgery experience required (orthopedic spine or neurosurgery)
- Strong understanding of surgical workflows, spine procedures, and implant coordination
- Experience with insurance authorizations and payer requirements
- Proficiency with EMR systems and surgical scheduling platforms
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
