- Communicate with insurance companies to confirm benefits, coverage limits, and pre-authorization requirements
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and answer related questions clearly and professionally
- Maintain accurate records of eligibility status, updates, and correspondence in the medical office management system
- Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and updating patient information
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure all insurance documentation is complete and compliant with regulations
- Stay informed about changes in insurance policies, industry standards, and relevant healthcare regulations to ensure compliance
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with insurance terminology and processes
- Experience with medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and record keeping
- Office experience demonstrating proficiency with computers, electronic health records (EHR), and insurance portals
- Dental office experience is a plus but not required; relevant healthcare experience is valued
