Job Overview
Spillway Dispensary is seeking a motivated, organized, and compliance-focused Dispensary Manager to lead daily operations at our Brandon, Mississippi location. This role is responsible for overseeing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining strong inventory and cash controls, and delivering an outstanding patient experience.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in retail, hospitality, or cannabis operations who can balance team management, financial accountability, and operational excellence. This person will work closely with ownership to keep the dispensary compliant, efficient, and profitable while helping build a positive and professional store culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day dispensary operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift management, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with all Mississippi medical cannabis laws, company policies, and internal procedures
- Maintain accurate use of Metrc, POS systems, patient verification, transaction limits, and product tracking
- Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures for sales, cash handling, inventory, and compliance
- Prepare for internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
Inventory & Financial Controls
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and reconciliations
- Support purchasing, receiving, restocking, and shrinkage control
- Review daily cash drawer reconciliations, safe counts, and deposits
- Ensure accurate transaction recording in POS and related systems
- Monitor labor efficiency, store performance, and cost controls
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, schedule, and support dispensary staff to ensure strong coverage and performance
- Recruit, interview, train, and onboard new team members
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing training on compliance, product knowledge, and customer service
- Enforce company standards and handle corrective action when needed
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Customer Experience
- Deliver a welcoming, professional, and educational experience for patients
- Assist patients with product selection and general guidance within legal and company guidelines
- Handle customer concerns, questions, phone calls, and email communication in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dispensary environment
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Work with ownership on promotions, vendor days, and local marketing initiatives
- Support customer outreach and community visibility in accordance with Mississippi regulations
- Help maintain a strong in-store brand presence and consistent customer experience
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the cannabis industry
- 2–4 years of management experience in cannabis, retail, hospitality, or a similar fast-paced customer-facing environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience with POS systems, inventory control, scheduling, and cash handling
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic financial literacy and comfort with reporting, reconciliations, and store performance metrics
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to pass a background check, have no disqualifying felonies, and obtain a Mississippi Medical Marijuana Work Permit within 30 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous dispensary or cannabis industry experience
- Familiarity with Mississippi medical cannabis regulations
- Experience using Metrc
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
Pay: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
