What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hazmat Driver position at Spicer Advanced Gas?
Wrightington Gas is searching for an experienced, licensed, and safety-minded trucking professional to become our new full-time Hazmat Driver! You'll safely transport and unload gas and propane tankers, making sure our clients have the resources they need to stay warm and comfortable. WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- 3 years of trucking experience
- Ability to understand and apply NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations
- Ability to work an on-call schedule
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage your time efficiently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills
A high school degree or GED would be a bonus!
WHEN WILL YOU WORK?
You'll need some schedule flexibility, as start times can vary. You'll typically start between 4:30 am and 9:30 am, working 8- to 10-hour shifts based on business needs. Some after-hours work may also be required for emergency services.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS OUR HAZMAT DRIVER?
Daily Responsibilities
- Inspecting your truck and filling out the DVIR
- Making sure you have all your equipment before heading out to your next propane delivery
- Submitting delivery tickets and running any problems or inaccuracies by the manager
- Making accurate deliveries and providing professional service to clients
- Reporting installations that are not up to code
- Following all safety procedures and trucking/highway regulations
Weekly/Monthly Priorities
- Following checklists to meet goals and objectives
- Attending safety meetings
- Following your truck's maintenance schedule and repair guidelines
Annual Expectations
- Maintaining NFPA 58 and 54 standards for Driver Safety and Leak and Pressure Check requirements
- Maintaining current CDL, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements
- Maintaining your truck's mechanical condition and promptly scheduling services as needed
- Completing DOT physicals
