MAINTENANCE SHIFT LEAD

As a Maintenance Shift lead, you will be required to take a leadership role in all maintenance projects and daily production runs. You will be required to train and mentor new maintenance technicians.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing daily and monthly audits of completed preventive maintenance work orders by maintenance technicians.
- Give daily shift reports to the Maintenance Manager giving a breakdown of any problems during the shift.
- Controls downtime by informing the Manager and production Supervisor of any possible maintenance problems.
- Proficient with PLC programming including diagnosing PLC programs and making modifications to the program, if needed.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipments.
- Maintains equipments, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Possess and continually improve the technical skills necessary to perform assigned maintenance.
- Responsible for the setup, operation (initial start-up and operation), and maintaining of multiple complexes, high-speed packaging lines, conveying systems.
- Coordinates with production supervisor and maintenance manager ensuring production lines are properly configured for the desired products and maintains the line to meet production goals and standards.
- Responsible for ensuring the line is functioning and operating safely including sanitation, lubrication and any adjustment before start-up and during line operation.
- Identifies mechanical, operational, and electrical problems and corrects problems, and requests support from other maintenance skills when necessary.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Requirements:
This schedule includes Saturday shifts and overtime hours as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma , GED or (Technical / AEE Diploma) a plus, but no required.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
- Aptitude for both electrical and mechanical environments as well as familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of fabrication, industrial electricity, control, manufacturing equipments and PLC a must.
- Utilize knowledge and requirements of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Willingness to work overtime and /or Saturdays.
