Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing machines and manual cleaning stations to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health regulations and hygiene standards.
- Handle dishes and kitchenware with proper manual handling techniques to prevent injury and maintain efficiency.
- Assist with bussing tables, clearing plates, and supporting food service staff during busy meal periods.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
- Support food preparation tasks by cleaning ingredients, equipment, and workstations as needed.
- Adhere to all food safety management protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation practices during cleaning processes.
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitizing procedures in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Experience with dishwashing equipment and manual cleaning techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large pots, trays, or crates of dishes.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations including bussing, food handling, and basic food preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members during busy service times.
- Previous restaurant, catering, or hotel experience is highly desirable; culinary or banquet experience is a plus.
