Responsibilities
- Perform routine light cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal to ensure a tidy environment.
- Handle cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and other custodial tools safely and effectively.
- Use appropriate chemical agents for sanitation while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Maintain floors through buffing, floor care, and basic maintenance to preserve their appearance and safety.
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities, including heavy lifting and manual handling practices.
- Restock supplies and ensure cleaning carts are organized and stocked for efficiency.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure swift resolution.
Requirements
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, with knowledge of commercial cleaning standards.
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely following established safety protocol procedures.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and industrial cleaning practices is a plus.
