What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern, Fabrication Inventory Analyst position at SPI LLC?
Summary
Assist the fabrication team in their mission to improve quality and efficiency. The primary responsibility of this candidate will be to complete a project reviewing and optimizing our billet process. Project would entail reviewing options of setting up a current facility focused on billets creation or connecting with suppliers for outsourcing pre-made options. if we should work with one of our suppliers on outsourcing/supplying a pre-made billet. Final presentation will include Responsibilities will focus on compiling and evaluating data, analyze and format data to present, along with periodically working on site for a week to see the process.
Areas of focus may include but are not limited to:
- Compiling and evaluating data
- Analyzing and format data to present to senior leaders
- Inventory Analysis of products
- Evaluate Raw materials.
- Calculate the usage rate/consumption rate of goods
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, particularly machine efficiency and cost reductions, utilizing data-driven methods.
- Participate in cross functional targeted improvement projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, Knowledge
- Enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Graduating in Dec 2025 or Spring 2026
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of situations
- Ability to respond to change in a positive manner
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong desire to learn new skills
- High degree of professionalism; inclusive and collaborative work style
Work Environment
Office and warehouse/fabrication environment – hybrid
Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.

- Senior - $23/hour
