Position Summary
A premier regional law firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Paralegal to support a dynamic legal team in our Pensacola, FL office. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency in legal research and document drafting, and a comprehensive understanding of civil litigation, commercial law, or real estate/corporate transactions. This role works closely with attorneys to manage case files, coordinate discovery, and prepare matters for trial or closing.
Key Responsibilities
- Case Management: Maintain, organize, and monitor litigation case files, deadlines, pleadings, and discovery indexes.
- Document Preparation: Draft standard pleadings, subpoenas, motions, notices, settlement agreements, and routine legal correspondence.
- Research & Fact-Checking: Conduct legal and factual research using LexisNexis/Westlaw, public records, and court dockets (e.g., E-Filing portals, Florida Courts).
- Discovery Support: Coordinate document collection, assist with propounding and responding to discovery requests, and organize document productions (including e-discovery).
- Trial & Hearing Prep: Prepare trial binders, exhibit lists, witness files, and coordinate scheduling for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Client & Court Communication: Act as a professional point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, and court personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting (preferred focus in commercial litigation, insurance defense, labor/employment, or corporate law).
- Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, or an Associate degree with a Certified Paralegal (CP/CLA/FRP) credential strongly preferred.
- Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience with legal case management software, e-filing systems (Florida Courts E-Filing Portal, PACER), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
