Rate Setting Analyst

Spherion is supporting our public health program client with their search for a Healthcare Data &Rate Setting Analyst in Madison. If you love digging into large data systems, tracking fiscal trends, and seeing your technical skills translate into meaningful community impact, we want to
talk to you. You will join a collaborative team where your financial models and data insights will shape future healthcare funding and drive program transparency.

What You'll Do:

• Research, develop, and update rate-setting methodologies for public health services
• Analyze large datasets to evaluate healthcare costs, trends, and financial outcomes
• Build complex financial spreadsheets, cost models, and predictive scenarios
• Draft technical specifications for data extraction and verify data accuracy with internal teams
• Prepare reports and presentations to summarize critical fiscal issues and budget recommendations for leadership
• Monitor federal and state rule changes that impact healthcare pricing and operational systems
• Provide technical assistance and clear documentation to external business partners

What You'll Bring:

• Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, or statistical research within the healthcare industry
• Proficiency with data management and statistical software such as R, SAS, Excel, or SQL
• Experience working with large databases containing demographic, health status, or billing data
• Ability to use forecasting techniques or regression models to evaluate financial risks
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data methodologies to non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of Medicaid, public healthcare financing, or public policy development is highly preferred
