What You'll Do
- Manage Purchase Orders: Oversee the full lifecycle of purchase orders for assigned materials, ensuring all data in the ERP system is accurate and up to date.
- Vendor Relations & Performance: Evaluate and monitor supplier capabilities, balancing factors like cost, risk, and delivery speed to ensure the best outcomes.
- Resolve Supply Disruptions: Identify and implement solutions for material shortages, delivery delays, or quality issues with minimal supervision.
- Strategic Sourcing Support: Help identify cost-reduction opportunities and assist with sourcing by learning the ins and outs of our products and processes.
- Inventory & Demand Planning: Use your judgment to interpret demand forecasts and turn them into timely procurement actions to keep production moving.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with manufacturers, distributors, and internal shop floor teams to resolve pricing discrepancies or receiving issues.
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or production operations (5 years in a manufacturing environment is a plus).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office-specifically Excel-and comfort navigating ERP/MRP systems.
