Job Title: Safety & Compliance Coordinator

Pay: $18.46 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Temp to Hire

Shift & Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Second Shift)

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety & Compliance Coordinator to oversee and maintain our facility’s safety standards. In this role, you will be the frontline defender of our safety culture—conducting regular audits, ensuring emergency equipment readiness, managing critical compliance documentation, and fostering open communication regarding workplace hazards.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, observant, and passionate about maintaining a secure, efficient, and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Audits & Inspections

• Workstation Safety: Execute regular safety audits across designated workstations to identify potential hazards and ensure strict operational compliance.
• Fire Safety: Conduct systematic monthly inspections of all facility fire extinguishers to ensure immediate accessibility and adherence to safety standards.
• Compliance Checklists: Complete comprehensive monthly safety compliance audits to ensure the facility consistently meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
• Gemba Walks: Perform regular Gemba walk inspection tours focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Maintenance Support: Assist with simple maintenance tasks to keep work areas safe (e.g., replacing station floor mats, securing ground wires, etc.).

Equipment & Documentation Management

• Emergency Readiness: Conduct monthly inspections of eyewash stations and spill kits, ensuring all emergency equipment is fully functional, stocked, and unobstructed.
• PIV Logistical Oversight: Manage and refresh sign-out documentation and inspection forms for pallet jacks and Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) to ensure accurate logging and total audit readiness.
• Administrative Maintenance: Oversee the preparation, replenishment, and organization of essential facility forms, including Gemba walk logs and cleaning station documentation.

Leadership & Communication

• Safety Meetings: Facilitate periodic safety committee meetings to discuss hazard identification, review incident reports, and collaborate on process improvements.
• Culture Advocate: Serve as a reliable point of contact for frontline employees regarding daily safety practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a safety, compliance, or quality assurance role within a manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environment (Preferred).
• Knowledge: Familiarity with workplace safety standards (e.g., OSHA), Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) regulations, and emergency equipment protocols.
• Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to hazard identification.
• Communication: Ability to confidently lead meetings, collaborate across departments, and maintain clear, accurate documentation.
